Welcome, glad you are here! If you know me, you know I don't eat meat or dairy. I'm not a true vegan because I will, occasionally, eat egg whites and honey. I'm "veganish." In 2008, I decided to get healthy and stop putting stuff in my body that I don't think it needs, namely saturated fat (meat & dairy), white sugar, white flour, processed foods, soda, and chemicals. People ask me what I eat and how I get my protein and calcium. This very thing worried me too! This site chronicles what I eat. I do tons of research and I read labels big time. I'm not perfect, but I try my best.
Eating plant-based foods changed my life in so many ways that I was not expecting. I lost 25 pounds when I stopped eating meat and dairy. My LDL (bad cholesterol) dropped 33 points. I'm not even that thin, I just feel good inside and out. I don't take a single medication, I don't have allergies anymore, and I rarely get sick. The more I research about what animal protein does to the human body, the more convinced I am that this is the healthiest way to live. Not to mention the horrors of factory-farming, and what that does to human health, animal welfare, and our precious eco-system. My hope is not to convert you to be vegan; but to inspire you, and give you healthy, smart options for you and your family. Think before you eat! Do you really want to put that into your body?
